Discovery Database Reconstruction™
In order to create a complete strategy, our clients often need solutions that are more complex and comprehensive than conversions of electronic and paper data into a review platform. Usually, when handling cases involving large corporations and government agencies, counsel must also reach into large databases and legacy systems. This requirement has increased significantly in light of the new Federal Rules on Electronic Discovery – specifically Rule 34, which states that data must be produced in the form in which it is “ordinarily maintained” or in a “reasonably useable” form or forms.
FRA provides Discover Database Reconstruction™ (DDR™) to organize data and customize search results of large data stores. With a simple, user-friendly interface, DDR™ can quickly reach into these systems to deliver search results and analysis based on specific criteria designed by our clients. In our seven years of business, we have yet to come across a database language we are unable to work with.
Having access to critical data that is often found only in data stores, DDR™ can protect clients from inadvertent release of proprietary information or point to areas of potential liability. It can also assist in quantifying and profiling liability or even refuting it based on empirical fact-based analysis.
DDR™ can also be used to convert paper, pdfs and tiffs into a database platform to assist in review, search and analysis of bank records, invoices, receipts, etc. Typically this can be automated using OCR technology and experienced IT programmers.
Clients can run DDR™ on their own network or access a solution hosted by FRA. DDR™ can mine into any database to perform calculations, search data, and report data to aid expert testimony, develop defensible positions, and find vulnerabilities.
Our advantage is that we do not simply provide software solutions, we provide service and experience. FRA has the technical staff to support DDR™ through every phase of data recovery, review, analysis, and production. Our staff works alongside our clients to pull down the relevant information and our senior analysts stay involved at all stages providing consultation and expert testimony regarding the resulting data.
