Carolyn Hodgson, an Associate Director at FRA, is a specialist in forensic investigations and regulatory work. Carolyn’s experience includes anti-money laundering, trade sanctions, False Claims Act, transaction testing, and disgorgement and fine calculation across various industries, including financial services, chemical manufacturing, shipping and logistics, engineering and construction, and life sciences.
Carolyn has been involved in several global compliance monitorships across the financial and medical device industries. She has performed forensic accounting work on a number of investigations for international companies involving potential improper payments and kick-back schemes. Her experience includes assignments for clients in the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia and South America, operating in the construction, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace and banking industries. Carolyn’s most recent engagement involves providing accounting support and financial analysis for a profit disgorgement calculation involving US, French, and Brazilian authorities for FCPA violations.
Prior to joining FRA, Carolyn worked for three years in the forensic investigations group at a Big Four accounting firm (KPMG) – working on various projects including forensic investigations, anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance. She gained FCPA-related experience while working on engagements for a multinational retail corporation as well as an investigation of an automotive manufacturer.
Carolyn is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware in 2013.
