Elizabeth Stone is an Associate Director at FRA’s Providence office on the Forensic Accounting team. She has experience in both the corporate accounting and forensic accounting fields. She has worked on cases involving anti-bribery and corruption, fraud and misconduct, regulatory investigations, fine calculation and regulatory compliance. Her experience includes assignments for clients in the US, Europe, Asia, Middle East and South America.
Elizabeth is currently assisting on a compliance monitorship of a financial services company for which FRA was retained to support the US DOJ-appointed monitor. During the monitorship, FRA has evaluated the compliance controls and business ethics across the organization’s global operations and has made recommendations for ongoing compliance. Elizabeth was also part of the FRA team that supported Airbus in a multi-year forensic accounting and eDiscovery review, which involved the analysis of large volumes of financial data to satisfy the needs of instructing lawyers, and she assisted with the fine calculation analysis that served as the basis for the global settlement across the four investigative authorities: UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO), DOJ, the US Department of State (DOS) and French Parquet National Financier (PNF).
Before joining the Forensic Accounting team, Elizabeth was an in-house Senior Accountant for FRA where she performed, reviewed and analyzed the firm’s international financial reporting, cash flow, intercompany transactions and tax requirements. Her experience in various areas of accounting helps her easily identify anomalies and high-risk areas during investigations.
Prior to joining FRA, Elizabeth held positions within the corporate accounting departments of an international merchandising company and a domestic mining company. Elizabeth also served nine years in the United States Army, including both Active and Reserve duty, completing multiple tours in countries across the Middle East and Central Asia.
Elizabeth is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clemson University.
