Matt Bedan is a Associate Director in FRA’s Washington DC office. He is a licensed Attorney with over 11 years of public and private sector experience with complex investigations, regulatory compliance and anti-corruption matters.
Matt specializes in the investigation, detection and prevention of potential statutory and regulatory violations, including US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and UK Bribery Act-related matters. He also assists clients with anti-corruption and regulatory compliance reviews, and assessment of internal controls.
Matt is a former Government Prosecutor with extensive criminal and civil investigative experience, including money laundering, narcotics, weapons and racketeering matters. He additionally worked in the Anti-Corruption, Investigations and Compliance practice group with FTI Consulting, where he assisted clients around the globe with internal investigations, compliance controls and third-party due diligence. Most recently, Matt worked in Internal Audit at AbbVie Pharmaceuticals, where he designed and managed compliance audits addressing risks related to fraud, corruption, regulatory controls, third-party risk and data privacy in the US and over 100 global affiliates, including Russia, China, Brazil, Mexico and India. Contemporaneous to these audits, Matt oversaw and supported internal investigations related to fraud and bribery allegations in Russia, Mexico and the U.S.
Matt is a cum laude graduate of the Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University.
