Steven Wirth joined FRA as a Senior Consultant in 2019 after a career in investment banking. Prior to joining FRA, Steven worked at UBS Investment Bank for 24 years working in various teams including banking and project finance, mining and then as a Manging Director in power, utilities and infrastructure. He spent 10 years in the roles of European Head of Transport and Infrastructure and Global Head of Infrastructure.
He is a project finance specialist and has advised government and corporate clients on some of the largest, most complex and high profile projects ever undertaken, with roles including: advisor to Thames Water on the £4.3bn Thames Tideway Tunnel project; advisor to London and Continental Railways on the £6bn Channel Tunnel Rail Link project; advisor to DfT and TfL on funding options for Crossrail, Europe’s largest infrastructure project; and advisor to Etihad Rail on the financing of the UAE’s $10bn 1,200km freight rail project.
He has also advised on M&A, equity and debt deals involving some of the world’s largest infrastructure owners and operators, including: Heathrow, Rome, Athens, Beijing, Budapest, London City, Lisbon and Luton airports; High Speed 1 / Eurostar, Eurotunnel, Network Rail, SNCF, Atlantia, M6Toll, Vinci, Abertis and Ferrovial; Associated British Ports, Peel Ports and Forth Ports; and Thames Water, Anglian Water, National Grid and Scotia Gas Networks.
Prior to joining UBS Investment Bank he worked for Arthur Andersen & Co for four years, where he focused on the development of computer based solutions for clients with complex tax computations and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser.
Steven has a BSc in Mathematics and Computation from Loughborough University.
