
Biography
Shahnar is an Associate in the Forensic Accounting team at FRA’s Washington DC office.
Prior to joining FRA in June 2022, Shahnar worked at CohnReznick in Washington DC, where she supported financial statement audits of renewable energy companies across the US. Her experience includes verifying and testing revenue recognition through invoice testing of energy facilities, testing Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) and battery facilities, calculating materiality using different benchmarks including revenue and total assets, determining PPE and ARO obligations of solar and wind facilities, and evaluating financial statement assertions for various balance sheet accounts.
Shahnar has a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies with a concentration in International Business and Economics, and a minor in Arabic language. Her undergraduate education included study abroad programs with CIEE (The Council on International Educational Exchange) in London, England, AMIDEAST in Amman, Jordan, and Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan. Topics studied included Conflict Management, Modern Standard Arabic, Jordanian dialect, and Islamic and cultural studies of the region.
