FRA welcomes Tytti Saarinen and Viivi Lajunen as the firm’s newest Directors and newest members of the European forensic accounting leadership team. In conjunction with their appointments, FRA is delighted to announce the opening of its office in Helsinki, as the firm continues its expansion into the Nordic region.
Derek Patterson, FRA Principal and Head of the Nordic region said of their appointments, “We are delighted to have Tytti and Viivi bring their experience and Nordic expertise to FRA. Tytti joins from RSM Helsinki where she was Partner and Chief Operating Officer bringing with her a proven track record in fraud investigations, forensic accounting, contentious insolvency and financial reporting. Viivi joins from Ministry of Education and Culture where she was Head of Audit. She brings almost 10 years of experience in complex investigations, damage calculations, compliance audits and contentious insolvency as well as accounting malpractice issues. These appointments will assist us to strengthen our footprint in the Nordics, where we already have a strong track record with key law firms and corporate clients”.
Tytti said of her appointment, “When I came to know about FRA, I was thrilled to learn that the service areas that the firm concentrates on are the exact areas of expertise that I am passionate about. Having met members of the leadership team, I was even more convinced that this firm is where I want to continue my professional career and professional development. FRA is a truly international firm comprised of professionals at the top of their field who I look forward to working alongside.”
Viivi said of her appointment, “We have seen that issues regarding misconduct are being reported on more and more in the Nordic press highlighting the growing opportunity for the services provided by a firm such as FRA. For me personally, it’s a pleasure to serve international businesses and other organisations to help them protect their reputation. I am delighted to join the international team of professionals at FRA and to work again with my former colleague, Tytti.”
Tytti and Viivi commented on their plans for the new Helsinki presence, “We aim to raise awareness of the risk of unethical behaviour and how to identify and mitigate it in line with the best practices expected by key international regulators. We also aim to provide clients with an alternative source of advice on managing and resolving disputes, drawing upon our own experience and the deep international experience of FRA. In our opinion, many Nordic organisations still rely heavily on trust which exposes companies to misbehaviour, particularly outside of the Nordic region. Considering the strong expertise at FRA, which has for example advised Telia Company throughout its recent corruption investigations and resolution, we see this as a great opportunity for us to become trusted advisors in this area.”
