For decades legal cases have used traditional document management systems to make sense of vast amounts of data in paper and electronic form. With the growing number of civil and criminal law cases, often involving over millions of documents, manually checking these is no longer an option. Why waste time and money when you don't have to?
The world of document review now offers a myriad of additional tools that is continually developing. Being able to build a case 'at the press of a button' has not yet arrived, but is certainly one step closer with tools such as Technology Assisted Review (TAR). TAR, also known as predictive coding, uses the expertise of human reviewers while leveraging the power of data analytics, enabling the user to flag relevant documents early and quickly.
More and more cases are demonstrating how to use technology to better serve the needs of clients and reduce litigation costs. With the constant increase in civil and criminal law cases not looking to slow down anytime soon, it is clear that the days of manual review are coming to an end.
