Ben Walter is an Associate Director in FRA’s London office in the Forensic Accounting team. He has over eight years of experience in forensic accounting and external audit, during which he has worked on cases involving fraud and corruption, regulatory and internal investigation, disgorgement and fine calculations, litigation and due diligence.
Ben was part of the FRA team supporting Airbus in a multi-year forensic accounting and eDiscovery review within the context of the company’s multinational investigation, reporting to four investigative authorities: UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the US Department of State (DOS) and French Parquet National Financier (PNF). He performed and managed forensic accounting structured data analysis, involving analysis of large volumes of financial data and liaising with international legal teams across multiple jurisdictions.
Recently, he has worked on disgorgement and fine calculation analysis for Petrofac, involving presentations to the SFO, and supported a multinational IT service and consulting company investigate allegations of accounting misstatements in its US subsidiaries. Ben has experience of cross-border investigations and disputes across a variety of industries including energy and natural resources, automotive, IT and healthcare.
Prior to joining FRA in 2018, Ben worked in the Forensic Investigations and Disputes practice at Deloitte in London and, prior to that, in the Corporate Audit team at Deloitte in Bristol.
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography (Hons) from the University of Bristol and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW).
