Biography

Young-Gak "Ken" Yun is a Senior Advisor in FRA Korea.

Ken founded Samjong Corporation in 1990, which subsequently became a member firm of KPMG in Korea ("KPMG Korea"). Over the span of twenty years of his leadership, KPMG Korea grew into one of the largest accounting and advisory firms in Korea. Founder and former Group Chairman of KPMG Korea and former member of KPMG International’s Global Board of Directors.

Ken is the Founder and Group Chairman of Pavilion Investment Group, an alternative investment firm based in Seoul, Korea. As well as this, Ken is the Founding Chairman of Pavilion Private Equity, a strategic partnership between Pavilion and Mitsubishi Corporation; and Chairman and CEO of Pavilion Asset Management.

Ken is the recipient of the Korean government’s 2010 “Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit”, being the first recipient from the non-manufacturing sector. In 2009, he was recognised as the “Best Korean CEO” by the Korea Economic Daily Business, as well as one of the “Top 30 Korean Business Leaders” by the MK Economy News. In 2010, he was awarded the “Talent Management Award” by the Korea Economic Daily. In 2011, Ken was awarded the “Forbes CSR Award”. In 2011 and 2012, Ken was selected as one of “The Most Powerful Business Leaders in Korea” by Fortune Magazine. 

Ken has also established and serves as Chairman of the Board of MYSC (Merry Year Social Company), which helps social enterprises with management consulting and funding support.

Having graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the University of Chicago and a JD and LLM from Duke Law School, Ken also qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and an Attorney at Law in the State of New York.
