Document Review and Managing Access Using eZReview

January 8, 2021

While undergoing high-volume eDiscovery review, precision and security are incredibly important. Equally important is leveraging the right technology that can help simplify the incredibly complex process. The eZReview platform, offers exactly this - powerful simplicity in the form of an intuitive review module, which can be manipulated using granular permissions for meticulous results. Having worked with a number of software offerings over the years, eZReview has eclipsed other market staples when recommending eDiscovery solutions to clients.

In terms of technology onboarding within the organization, training a first-level reviewer takes approximately 10 minutes. Any advanced, complex or un-required aspects of the tool can be hidden from a standard user's view, facilitating ease of use, with minimal clutter and distraction in the user interface. After logging into the application, beginning review of a batch of documents takes only two clicks. eZReview also has the capability to pre-assign batches of documents to reviewers. Upon assignment, a single click allows the end-user to access an assigned batch.

Should more advanced techniques be required to facilitate review, eZReview allows advanced reviewers to proceed unencumbered by potential software limitations (e.g., the powerful conflicting tag decision reports, which allow you to run conflict checks on related documents [family, exact and near duplicate]).

Review managers also are able to easily ensure that all required coding is completed prior to reviewers checking a batch back in, reducing the need to manually search for un-reviewed documents within the review population. Additionally, they can generate automated and detailed reviewer productivity reports at the click of a button.

The focus on security cannot be understated. User- and role-based permissions allow the application to be set up for basic, intermediate and advanced users. Access control allows for two or more sets of users can be given access to the platform and each have secure access to their own views and specific sets of documents. Because of these measures, eZReview has been used in some of the most sensitive and high-profile cases in recent history and has emerged as a robust and reliable platform to which clients return to consistently. These global, cross-border investigations have utilised eZReview for telescopic access to specific sets of data ensuring only the data assigned to a user or group of users is accessible within the specified jurisdiction.
