Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA) appoints Gerben Schreurs as Partner in its Switzerland office

January 17, 2022

17 January, 2022, Zurich, Switzerland: Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA), a forensic accounting, data analytics and eDiscovery consultancy specialising in international and complex investigations, compliance and disputes, is pleased to announce that Gerben Schreurs, former Managing Director at Credit Suisse, Zurich, has been appointed Partner within the firm's Zurich office.

Gerben's appointment will further bolster the firm's anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions and compliance capabilities, as well as boost its market-leading white-collar offering by leveraging technology and data analytics intelligently for forensic purposes.

Gerben has more than 20 years of professional services experience, working at KPMG for 21 years as a Forensic Partner in The Netherlands, and more recently as Partner and Global Head of Forensic Technology in Switzerland. Prior to FRA, he was Managing Director of Credit Suisse, Zurich, acting as the global head of Systems and Controls for Financial Crime Compliance. His expertise spans across investigations, remediation and preventive projects for a wide range of clients in many countries, including large cross-border matters.

Gerben's strong financial services background will further strengthen FRA's presence in the Swiss market, where the company initially established roots over 20 years ago.  Switzerland is one of the world's leading financial centres, consisting of a large number of banks and insurance companies, with the main hubs being in Zurich and Geneva. FRA expects it to remain so and is committed to further investment in the region, bringing to bear strong expertise in a landscape of increasingly complex and coordinated regulation in the region and globally.

Stuart Ells, CEO, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Gerben to FRA's Zurich office, which serves as a key servicing hub for high-value litigation, complex cross-border disputes, financial crime investigations and forensic work across Northern Europe. Gerben's extensive leadership and financial services experience will be invaluable when guiding clients through regulatory proceedings. His appointment will also help drive growth and investment in a region that is of great strategic value. Since opening FRA's Swiss office and data center in Switzerland in 2009, we have maintained a consistent footprint in the region, and his appointment kicks off another key phase of growth for us."

Gerben Schreurs said: "I'm delighted to join FRA, a firm which first made its mark as an independent player in the Swiss market over 20 years ago and continues to be engaged on high stakes matters to this day. There is sustained demand in the region for anti-money laundering (AML) and investigative services, and I look forward to meeting that demand, both from within Switzerland, and outside from countries such as the US and UK."
