5 January 2026, London – Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA), the independent international consultancy specialising in forensic accounting, investigations, disputes and risk advisory, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Fowler as Partner and Head of Forensic Technology.
Jon joins FRA with responsibility for the firm’s global forensic technology offering, overseeing its integrated eDiscovery, digital forensics, and technology-enabled investigation capabilities. His appointment reflects FRA’s continued investment in bespoke forensic technology expertise that has been tightly integrated with its leading forensic accounting services since the firm’s founding over 25 years ago.
Jon brings almost two decades of experience supporting clients and their legal advisers on complex investigations, disputes and regulatory matters. Recognised as a thought leader in digital forensics by Lexology Index, Jon is described as “highly skilled at translating between technical IT concepts and legal issues to recommend practical solutions”.
He has led large-scale eDiscovery and digital forensic engagements, advising on data preservation, collection, processing, review and analysis, and ensuring that technology-driven approaches are forensically sound, proportionate and defensible. In addition to client projects, Jon’s prior consultancy experience includes establishing forensics teams from scratch, leading internal training programs, and overseeing internal technology infrastructure.
Toby Duthie, Co-founding partner at FRA, said: “Jon’s appointment continues FRA’s long-standing investment in specialist forensic technology expertise. Investigations and disputes have become more and more data-intensive and the strategic use of AI and emerging technologies to leverage that data is a key differentiator. With rising geo-political tensions and challenges, data location and access has become, once again, a critical consideration requiring genuine subject matter expertise and bespoke solutions. Clients need purpose-built, defensible technology that is fully aligned with forensic and legal strategy. Jon’s background building and leading eDiscovery teams, combined with years of collaborating with corporate and legal clients, significantly strengthens our global offering in this regard.”
On his new role, Jon Fowler said: “Clients are facing growing challenges from expanding data volumes, complex digital environments and heightened regulatory and litigation risk. FRA’s integrated, expert-led model and its reputation in the market for bespoke, innovative technology solutions made it a compelling next step for me. At a time where demand is higher than ever for smarter and more reliable investigations technology, I look forward to driving FRA’s forensic technology offering to meet the challenge.”
