James Yoo is an Associate Director in our Washington, DC office. James has been at FRA for over 6 years now and has experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Monitorships, Auditing and Anti-Corruption Investigations. We recently spoke with him to learn more about him, his role and what makes FRA enjoyable.
What is the most enjoyable bit of working for FRA and why?
I think the most enjoyable part of working at FRA is being part of high-impact projects with a group of talented folks who are driven, and intellectually curious. Having a team around me that is always committed to go above and beyond to deliver on clients expectations and leverage past experience is really inspiring to be around. This type of mindset people have in this firm has made every project I've worked on both challenging and rewarding.
How did you get into Forensic Accounting?
Starting my career in audit, I soon got the opportunity to work with the firm's forensic team on several audit engagements. Being part of this team definitely sparked a new interest for me in the world of forensic accounting and ultimately drove me to shift my career in this direction.
What would your career be if not Forensic Accounting?
My other interest is cooking so I would be in the restaurant business, possibly running a chain of family friendly restaurants.
