International Event and Talent Management Company

An employee of an international talent agency left the company and took with them several high-profile clients to a direct competitor.

Challenge

An employee of an international talent agency left the company and took with them several high-profile clients to a direct competitor. FRA was instructed to identify whether the employee had used company resources to recruit these clients, which would have been in violation of a non-compete agreement.

Action

FRA forensically preserved data from various sources, including personal-use devices and company server data. We were on-site within 48 hours to capture server data, and “bag & tag” physical devices. We continued preservation out of hours and initiated analysis within our secure forensic laboratory.

Solution

We conducted a forensic examination of the digital evidence which revealed that several social media messages, both public and private, had been sent to the clients in question. FRA also identified a number of key evidential artefacts in drafted notes. FRA provided a findings report within one week of receiving the request for assistance.
