Crypto Investigations Director Meredith Fitzpatrick Promoted to Partnership
Meredith Fitzpatrick is promoted to partnership, recognizing her leadership in the firm's expanding crypto practice
WASHINGTON DC, 5 JANUARY 2026 - Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA), the independent international consultancy specialising in forensic accounting for investigations, disputes and risk advisory, today announced the promotion of Meredith Fitzpatrick to Partner.
Meredith’s promotion to partnership from the role of Cryptocurrency Investigations Director recognizes her leadership in the firm’s expanding crypto investigations and compliance practice, which she helped launch when she joined the firm in 2023.
Entering consultancy straight from the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), she quickly adapted her law enforcement and intelligence community experience into practical, rigorous advisory and investigative support for companies and their legal counsel. Recent high-profile matters include providing expert evidence to the legal team that secured a landmark judgment in the liquidation of the cryptocurrency platform Yield App Limited, providing cryptocurrency Expert Testimony for Metropolitan AME Church in a case against Proud Boys International and several Proud Boys leaders, and leading a large team of crypto, AML, and forensic technology consultants in support of the FinCEN Binance monitor. She has been central to meeting rising client demand for specialist financial crime expertise in blockchain analytics and digital-asset risk. (See Meredith’s full bio here.)
“Meredith has been instrumental in building FRA’s cryptocurrency practice into a globally recognised capability,” said Frances McLeod, Co-Founding Partner at Forensic Risk Alliance. "With the ever increasing importance of crypto in the mainstream global economy, high velocity growth in the sector, and crypto regulation and enforcement evolving differently across jurisdictions, FRA is strengthening its senior leadership to meet growing global client demand, even beyond the crypto-native world. Increasingly, we are advising traditional financial institutions and corporates as they engage with crypto, and Meredith's team has been pivotal to building out both compliance and investigative service offerings."
Meredith has led and supported investigations across a wide range of crypto-related issues, including digital-asset insolvencies, sanctions and AML compliance, exposure to illicit fund flows, asset tracing and recovery, and disputes involving centralized and decentralized platforms. She regularly works at the direction of external and in-house counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters, helping clients navigate regulatory expectations and maintaining evidential integrity.
Meredith has also championed the growth of FRA’s crypto practice through specialist recruitment, expanding the skill set of the firm’s forensic accounting experts, and contributing widely to industry publications and conferences.
Commenting on her promotion, Meredith said: “As digital assets and traditional finance converge, clients are navigating not just new technologies but diverging regulatory approaches across major financial centres. The most pressing questions we see are strategic ones — where to engage, how to build trust with regulators, and how to remain ready as expectations evolve. FRA’s cross-functional, cross-border model means that clients get the full force of FRA’s range of capabilities in lean, specialized teams. Simply, we’re putting together the best of the best. I’m proud to join the partnership at a firm that enables clients to take a globally informed, holistic, and sensible approach to rapid growth area that is cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.”
