Effect of new Russian sanctions

EU sanctions are targeting Russia's financial, defence and oil sectors. The current regulations are complex - transactions with Russian banks and key entities are specifically prohibited. The risk of regulated financial institutions breaching sanctions by lending to blacklisted Russian banks is clear, according FRA's David Lawler, and he explains that many are already under scrutiny and are busy responding to requests from regulators.
