FRA participated in several panel discussions at the Wealth Today Summit, where industry experts gathered to discuss the latest trends and shifts in the wealth management and investment space. FRA Partners Bhavin Shah and Stephen Millington, and Director May Mhanna were among the experts who shared their insights on topics such as institutional adoption of digital assets, new generation crypto trading exchanges, and tokenizing real-world assets. One of the key takeaways was the need for regulators to set crypto standards that connect the digital asset industry with the wider financial system. Additionally, the panel emphasized the importance of creating toolkits to fight fraud and increase transparency.

New Generation Crypto Trading Exchanges

Stephen Millington (FRA), Samir Satchu (BitOasis), Jeetu Kataria (Digital Financial Exchange), Dr. Marwan Al Zarouni (Digital Dubai), and Joseph Dallago (Rain), discussed the importance of education in bridging the gap between traditional assets and crypto assets. The experts highlighted the need for crypto exchanges to understand the financial world and self-regulate by implementing controls for Custody Management, KYC, KYT, AML, and Risk assessment. They also emphasized the importance of customers understanding the functionality and risks of Crypto assets to make informed decisions.

Tokenizing Real-World Assets: Roadblocks, Challenges & Success

May Mhanna (FRA), Ronit Ghose (Citi), Hussein Tantawi (ICEBERG Capital), Brenton Naicker (CV VC Africa), and Alexander Rapatz (Black Manta Capital Partners) discussed the potential of tokenization in making non-liquid assets liquid and providing fractionalization, accessibility, and utilization. However, they also highlighted the challenges that must be addressed, including a lack of education, infrastructure, risk mitigation, and cybersecurity. The key takeaway from the discussion was the need for greater integration of tokenization with the rest of the financial industry to drive growth.
