FRA monitorship team shortlisted for Women in GRC Award
The FRA team led by founding partner Frances McLeod has been recognized for their work in the DOJ-appointed monitorship of IAV GmbH, completed in June 2022.
The Women in GRC Awards Team of the Year category recognizes “teams led by a female, where each and every member of the team plays a fundamental role in delivering success. The winning team will be a diverse and supportive group of people working together with a shared belief and value system that delivers business objectives.” (Read more about the Awards here.)
In 2022, FRA founding partner Frances McLeod, in her role as the DOJ-appointed monitor to automotive engineering company IAV GmbH, successfully led a team to certify the company’s compliance program and complete the monitorship related to the high profile “Dieselgate” scandal.
FRA’s international compliance monitorship team was comprised of forensic accountants, data analysts and data governance experts, that worked together across diverse nationalities and language groups in its offices in the US, UK, France and Switzerland. Through exceptional subject-matter expertise, technical innovation and effective communication skills they were able to help IAV create “effective compliance processes and systems” (read IAV’s press release here).
Key statistics on this women-led team:
- Frances is one of only a handful of women – and one of the few non-lawyers – to have been appointed as a monitor by the US Department of Justice.
- 70% of the senior team on this project – partners and directors – were women. This includes Emma Hodges, Jenna Voss, Doel Kar, Masako Asaka, Tegan Starr, Anushka Ram and Amina Khoungui.
- 45% of the full team were women
In a typically male-dominated automobile sector, FRA women at senior levels led multiple workstreams that comprised a highly complex and technical monitorship, and which in the long run will be instrumental in establishing higher standards for environmental and corporate compliance in the sector.
We are delighted to congratulate the full FRA team for this well-deserved recognition.
